The Vienna Aviation Days 2025 took place on 7–8 July 2025, hosted by the exFan project under the Horizon Europe framework. This focused two-day event brought together stakeholders from research, industry, and policymaking to discuss the development of future propulsion systems — from current technologies to disruptive solutions aiming for climate-neutral aviation by 2050.
- The programme included four thematic sessions:
- Session I: Near-term propulsion systems and demonstrators
- Session II: Presentation of the ClimAvTech cluster and collaborative EU efforts
- Session III: Advanced surface technologies improving propulsion efficiency
- Session IV: Policy and standardization challenges in upscaling new technologies
VAD2025 provided a platform to exchange ideas, share project results, and identify synergies across EU-funded initiatives targeting the next generation of aircraft propulsion systems.
