Vienna Aviation Days 2025: Shaping the Future of Propulsion

The Vienna Aviation Days 2025 took place on 7–8 July 2025, hosted by the exFan project under the Horizon Europe framework. This focused two-day event brought together stakeholders from research, industry, and policymaking to discuss the development of future propulsion systems — from current technologies to disruptive solutions aiming for climate-neutral aviation by 2050.

exFan @ Paris Air Show 2025

At the 55th Paris Air Show (16–22 June 2025), the University of Vienna represents the exFan project, bringing forward key insights into hydrogen-electric propulsion and thermal management.

By participating in one of the most significant gatherings in global aerospace, exFan continues building bridges between science, policy, and industry—ensuring visibility and collaboration across sectors.

General Assembly Meeting (M18)

The exFan consortium met (M18) at the premises of IRES on May 14-15, 2025, to assess progress, coordinate technical work, and plan the next steps. A valuable opportunity to reinforce collaboration across all partners and align the common efforts to project main goals as we move into the completion of 2nd year of the project.

exFan at AeroDays 2025 – Warsaw, Poland

Represented by Hanns Amri (ADT), exFan shared key findings on thrust generation using PEM fuel cell waste heat and thermal management via atwo-phase system – all within the ClimAVTech Cluster session (AeroDays 2025 – Warsaw, Poland).
